The Automatic Safety Hook can pick up and release loads via the use of a remote control, removing any risks operators may put themselves under whilst manually connecting or disconnecting the load. The magnetic field on the bottom of the hook attracts and guides the lifting attachment into position before the operator presses the button on the remote control and the hook closes, allowing the operator to continue the lift as normal.
As the operator can connect the load without leaving the floor it avoids the need to work at height, thus satisfying the Working at Height Hierarchy part of The Work at Height Regulation 2005 6(2). Because of this, using The Automatic Safety Hook removes the need for working at height risk assessments and method statements, the expense of PPE, height safety training and costs associated with hiring MEWPs or other access.
Further risks are reduced; when working in areas of high temperatures or in toxic areas, of hand injuries and of manual handling injuries caused by the operator handling heavy chain slings. The use of The Automatic Safety Hook can also increase the productivity of workers and allows the operator to select the most convenient slinging method for each application.
The Automatic Safety Hook works with wire rope slings, chain slings, and masterlinks, and can be supplied with special webbing slings. The Automatic Hook has limitless applications and is available in two working load limits a 5ton and 10ton Hook.
